Cultural Futures Report
Cultural Futures is IW’s annual share and listening tour following each Legislative session. The purpose is to connect with the cultural sector across the state by sharing what happened during the session and listen to their challenges and needs in preparation of creating the next year’s legislative agenda. This year’s events summarized: the importance of advocacy, cultural wins from the session including Working Washington 5 grant program, Arts Education Bill, Film Incentive Bill, and much more. This report details IW’s work during the first 6 months of 2022 from the Legislative Session, advocacy and outreach, and the grassroots tour that brought us in-person to 16 regions across the state.
This year’s events summarized: the importance of advocacy, cultural wins from the session including $2 million for the cultural sector, Building for the Arts, Heritage Capital, councilmanic authority for hte Cultural Access program, and much more. This report details IW’s work during the first 6 months of 2023 from the Legislative Session, advocacy and outreach, and the grassroots tour that brought us in-person to 22 regions across the state.
